Dorothy Larue Looper
- Easley
Dorothy Larue Looper "Nanny Dot" Harris, 83, formerly of Dacusville, wife of the late Jack Houston Harris, Sr., passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Amos and Venoy Raxter Looper, Mrs. Harris was a resident of Blue Ridge Living Center for thirteen years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was formerly employed with Swirl, Inc. Mrs. Harris loved Elvis, country music and wrestling and had a green thumb for flowers.
Her life was about taking care of everyone else. She was a caregiver to anyone who needed her anytime. Although we are going to miss her dearly, Dot is with the Lord, her parents and her sister, Betty, and her husband, Jack, whom she loved so much. We know she will be waiting on us in heaven with her arms open wide.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Houston Harris, Jr., and Jerry Wayne Harris (Celeste), all of Pumpkintown; a daughter, Cindy Simmons (Tony) of Easley; a brother, Bobby Looper (Lee) of Dacusville; a sister, Glenda Julian (Dennis) of Marietta; grandchildren, Sherrie Harris Moore, Candy Garrett (Andy), Chevy Harrelson (Chad), Jonathan Simmons, Kevin Harris and Sammy Harris; and great-grandchildren, Amber Garrett and Cheyenne Harrelson. In addition to her husband, parents and sister, Mrs. Harris was predeceased by a grandson, Houston Harris.
