Dorothy Ballenger Hurley, 97, widow of Hugh G. Hurley, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Richard Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.
Born in Saluda, NC, she was a daughter of the late Alberry and Pearl Pace Ballenger. Dorothy was a nurse with the USNavy during WWII. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Clemson.
Surviving are daughters, Margaret Hurley of Clemson, Jenny Bush of Beaufort, SC, and Mary Olson of Chisholm, MN; son, Ed Hurley of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Walter (Tamara) McAbee, John (Gail) McAbee, Rebekah (Mike) Kavlie, Meg McAbee, Jon (Evie) Bush, Jodie Miller, Greg Evans, David Evans, Charlotte Evans, Austin Olson, Casey Peake and Lauren Peake; 11 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Grace, Myrtle, Bernice, Lois, Jincie, Albert and Helen.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday, February 2, 2018 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 PM, Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
