Mrs. Dorothy Bishop Miller, 83, wife of the late Carl Jackson Miller, passed away Sunday August 17, 2014 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late J.B. Bishop and Nanny Bell Bishop Pate, Mrs. Miller was formerly employed with Stone Manufacturing Company, and was a lifetime member of Georges Creek Baptist Church where she taught Children's Sunday school ministry for twenty-one years. She was also active in the WMU and Joy Club.

Surviving are six children, Brenda Sewell (George), Charlotte Miller, David Miller (Carolyn), Eugene Miller (Sherry), Margaret Santos (Tony), Larry Miller (Sharon) and her niece-daughter, Jeanean Beeco (Rayburn); two brothers, James Bishop (Edith), and Fred Bishop (Catherine); three sisters, Bessie Faye Bridges, Eloise Brown and Ruth Leslie (Randy); sixteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Miller was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa McDonald, who passed away July 28, 1974, by a brother, Irel Bishop and his wife Sandy, by a sister, Sarah Ann Padgett and by her step-father, Ned Pate.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Georges Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
