Dorothy Rampey Simmons, lovingly known as "Ma Dot", 77, of 263 Bethlehem Ridge Road, went to be with her Savior on Monday, January 18, 2010, at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Easley, Mrs. Simmons was a daughter of the late Hoke Snipes and the late Beulah Howard. She retired from Easley Living Center and was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Pickens.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Simmons of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Lynn Rampey and Robby and Gay Rampey, all of Easley; two daughters, Jan Rampey of Greenville and Lisa Cooley and her husband, Keith, of Easley; a step-son, Lt. Col. Rick Simmons of Pickens, currently stationed in Pakistan; one brother, Jack Snipes and his wife, Nell, of Six Mile and their two daughters, Melinda Miller of Jupiter, FL and Jeannie Mullinax of Six Mile; one sister, Carol Baker and her husband, Roy, and their daughter, a special niece, Angie Baker, all of Easley. Ma Dot was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to the following six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Heather Rampey Hood, her husband, Derrick and their two children, Hannah and Hunter, all of Antioch, TN; Kyle Rampey of Easley; Rebekah Rampey Sammons, her husband Jason and their daughter, Kaylee, all of Rural Hall, NC; Jarrod Rampey of Easley; Brittney Cooley White and her two children, Preston and Peyton all of Easley; and Emily Cooley of Easley. Last but not least, Ma dot loved her little dog, Wee One.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Concord Baptist Church's Mission Fund, 723 Concord Church Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
