Dorothy Rackley Simmons, 82, wife of the late Columbus Latton "Lum" Simmons passed away at her home on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Oconee County, and was a daughter of the late Peter Grayson and Dora Moore Rackley. She was retired from Woodside Mills and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two sons, James Simmons of Easley and Alton Simmons of Liberty; four daughters, Cynthia Reynolds of Central, Brenda Crowe of Liberty, Fran Simmons of Central and Sharon Simmons of Easley; thirteen grandchildren and twenty two great-grand children.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Simmons and three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, the Rainey Hospice House and Interim Health Care and a special thank you to Tammie Simmons, her main caregiver.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, with burial to follow in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
