Dorothy Ann Sink

August 26, 1940 — September 7, 2023

Easley

Dorothy Ann (Dot) Sink, a loving and independent lady with a generous heart, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023, surrounded by her family and many friends, at The Retreat of Easley. She was born on August 26, 1940, in Easley, South Carolina to Frank Johnson and Mettie Johnson (Ball). Dorothy was one of four siblings: brothers Olin and Doyle Johnson, and a sister Vivian Black, which are all now deceased. Dorothy was married to Robert Leo Sink of N.C., from 1979-2008, which is also now deceased, after a long battle with leukemia.

Throughout her successful career, Dorothy was the proud co-owner and operator of D&B Enterprise, an import company for flower baskets. She was also involved with Capris Italian Restaurant from 1968-1973. After retiring from her entrepreneurial endeavors, she joined Clemson University, where she formed a genuine friendship with the entire football coaching staff, including Dabo & Kathleen Swinney!

Known for her vivacious spirit and unwavering loyalty as a fan, Dorothy's passion for Clemson University ran deep. She proudly cheered on the Clemson Tigers during games, showing undying support for the team she adored. Additionally, she had an undeniable affection for Elvis Presley's music; his legendary tunes brought joy to her soul.

Family was everything to Dorothy, and she treasured spending time with her loved ones, especially her two grandsons, Matt and Landan Brooks, who held an incredibly special place in her heart. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with love, laughter, and endless memories created together.

Dorothy's Christian faith was an integral part of her life. As a member of Eastside Baptist Church, she found solace in her connection to her church family & Sunday School class, who encouraged her spiritual growth within that community of believers.

During her lifetime, Dorothy touched the lives of many through her warm smile and compassionate nature. Friends were drawn to her because she exuded kindness and empathy, and had a huge giving heart! She never hesitated to lend a helping hand, or words of encouragement to someone in need.

Dot is survived by her son Mike Brooks, daughter-in-law Pam Brooks and her two grandsons, Matt Brooks, and Landan Brooks (fiancé-Brooke Hungerford). She is also mourned by her dear aunt and friend Gladys Fowler.

In honor of Dorothy's life, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home on Powdersville Road in Easley, South Carolina. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Dorothy will then be laid to rest following the service at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 201 Rock Springs Rd in Easley.

In this time of grief, we remember Dorothy's vibrant spirit and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
