Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Bagwell Roper Swinyer, 86, wife of Charles Henry Swinyer and the late Roy Edward Roper, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Tandy and Elizabeth Freeman Bagwell, Mrs Swinyer retired from First Union Bank and was a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Welborn and Julie Smith (Michael), all of Easley; a brother, Johnny W. Bagwell (Jacqueline) of Augusta, GA; three step-sons, Mickey, Greg, and Ron Swinyer; two step-daughters, Charlene Brock (Tony), and Cheryl Hudson (Travis); three grandchildren, Jessica Welborn, Stephanie Looper, and William Smith; one great-grandchild, Reagan Dickson; seven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband and parents, Mrs. Swinyer was predeceased by a daughter, Anita Joan Byers; four brothers, William, Lonnie, Edgar, and Hubert Bagwell; four sisters, Icie Dickard, Eddie Mae Morton, Jo Ann Bouchillon, and Bertha Swayngham; and a great-grandchild, Claire Autry Smith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
