Dorothy Roper Traynum, 86, widow of Wallace Horton Traynum, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Central, she was a daughter of the late John Samuel and Margaret "Maggie" Francis Price Roper.
Dot was a graduate of Central High School, was a housewife and later worked various jobs until her retirement from BASF in Anderson. She was a member of Bishop Branch Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, gardening, Clemson Tiger sports and the Atlanta Braves.
Surviving are her daughter, Hazel Cartee and husband Tony of Anderson; son, Wallace Edward Traynum of Pendleton; sisters, Rachel Morrison of Central and Reba Smith of Clemson; grandchildren, Lindsey Rhodes and Ansley Cartee; and great grandchildren, Jaxson and Cooper Rhodes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Paul, John Jr., Ray, Marion, Adger and Wilton Roper; and sisters, Jesse Martin, Bernice Kelly, Francis Sears and Zelma Hamilton Roscoe.
Funeral services will be 4 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Bishop Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Smoak officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
