Dorothy Adkins Young, 76, of 434 Black Snake Road, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late James and Geneva Chapman Adkins, Mrs. Young retired as accounting supervisor with Dixie Tool Company and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church where she belonged to the Auditorium Sunday School Class. Mrs. Young was very active with the Order of Eastern Star and held both State and National offices.
Surviving are her husband, Milton Young of the home; a son, Jimmy Young of Easley; a sister, Martha Ellenburg of Easley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was predeceased by a sister, Helen Bagwell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Road with Rev. Dr. Roger Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Members of the Eastern Star Chapter # 200 will serve as honorary escort.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the residence.
