Dorsie R. Martin, Sr., 79, of 1117 Hamlin Road, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at his home.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late John Thomas and Mattie Smith Martin, Mr. Martin retired from Alice Manufacturing Company and was a member and former Deacon of Corinth Baptist Church where he belonged to the Faith Bible Class and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Woodmen Of The World.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Flora Blanche Lesley Martin of the home; a son, Dorsie R. Martin, Jr., and wife, April, of Easley; two daughters, Myrtie Diann James and Flora Emma Nell Taylor, and husband, Sam, all of Easley; four grandchildren, Bridget Taylor James and husband, Mark, Megan Martin McLane and husband, Allen, Tammy Taylor Gamble, and husband, Josh, and Jonathan Martin and wife, Leslie; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Samantha James and Isaiah and Josalynn Gamble; and a beloved nephew, James Martin and wife, Frances, of Easley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was predeceaced by two brothers, Clayton T. Martin and James Delmer Martin, Sr.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Faith Bible Class and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Corinth Baptist Church will serve as honorary escorts.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Emma Nell and Sam Taylor, 213 Zion Heights Circle, Easley, SC 29642.
