Douglas Adam Barnett, 32, of Nesbit, MS, formerly of Easley, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018.
Born in Easley, he is the son of Cindy Chalker Barnett of Easley and Douglas Melvin Barnett of Waynesville, NC.
Adam was a 2004 graduate of Easley High School and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Following high school, Adam enlisted in the US Army and served with the 3rd Armor Calvary Regiment, also known as Brave Rifles. He was assigned to the 3rd Platoon, Fox Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3rd ACR. He was deployed to Iraq in October 2006 and served 3 tours. Adam loved his family dearly, and enjoyed watching college football, the UNC Tar Heels, reading and talking politics.
In addition to his parents, Adam is survived by his fiance', April Michelle Harris; his children, Madilyn Marie Barnett and Ivan Alixander Barnett; and sisters, Amanda Barnett and Anna Barnett.
A service to celebrate Adam's life will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church in Pendleton.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully ask that donations be made to the
Education Fund for Madilyn Barnett or
Wounded Warrior Project.
The family will be at the home of his mother.
