Dr. Bob Dayton, 84, husband of Sabina Jowers Dayton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. He is now at his heavenly home with Jesus.
Born in Johnson City, NY, a son of the late Wayne Dayton and the late Thelma Goff Dayton, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved animals, enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to Nicaragua, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. And he spent 60 years as a missionary and a church builder in Nicaragua, Central America. Nicaragua was his second home and had his heart.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert W. Dayton, Jr. (Dienece) of Easley; a daughter, Beth Petty of Greenville; a sister, Nancy Davenport (Rip) of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Will Petty and Daniel Petty, both of Greenville, and Aubrey Haffner (John) of Gainesville, GA; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Petty, Jack Haffner, and Joanna Haffner; nieces, Christy Davenport and Jill Davenport Swartz; and a nephew, Jeff Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC. A private burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
The family will receive friends from 11:45 AM until 12:45 PM. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
