Dr. Tracy A. Barnes

Dr. Tracy A. Barnes (80), of Easley, went to his eternal home on October 12, 2023. Tracy will be remembered as a beloved husband to his wife Sally of nearly 50 years, a father, and a grandfather.
Tracy was born on November 2, 1942 in Georgia and graduated from Hapeville High School in 1960. In 1965, he graduated from Georgia Tech and joined the US Air Force. He achieved the rank of Captain and flew C-130 aircrafts while serving in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, Tracy attended the Medical University of South Carolina earning his DDS degree in 1974.
Upon graduation, Tracy practiced in Bennettsville, SC and joined the South Carolina Army National Guard. In the late 1980’s, Tracy and Sally moved to Easley, SC, where he started his dental practice which he continued until his retirement in 2008. Following retirement, Tracy enjoyed traveling, photography, and ministry. His ministry included helping to rehabilitate prisoners through Kairos and mission trips to Africa, India, Brazil, and NYC after 9/11.
Dr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred, and Sadie Barnes; his son J. Alan Barnes; and his grandson, Grant Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Sarah “Sally” H. Barnes; his daughter, Joanna “Jodi” Whitmore (Patrick) of PawPaw, WV.; his sons, William “Bill” Barnes (Katie) of Mebane, NC, and C. Whitney Barnes (Kelly) of Skaneateles, NY; his sister, Jennifer “Jenny” Brown (Ron) of Marietta, GA; and his grandchildren, James, Allison, John “Jake”, Ryan, Abigail, Benjamin, Parker, Layla, Regan, T. Walker, and Collins.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Easley Presbyterian Church at 2 O’clock. A receiving of friends and family will be held after the service in the church fellowship hall.
