Earl Benjamin Dippon, 101, of Clemson, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the home of his daughter Ruth C. Dippon Andreasen and husband Robert in Clemson, SC.
Born in Dwight, Illinois, he was a son of the late Benjamin J. and Elizabeth Konrad Dippon. Earl was a graduate of Dwight Township High School in Dwight, IL and at the age of 17 purchased a business that became known as Dippon's-Dwight Produce Company, which operated for 30 years. In his later working years he was an agent with Lutheran Mutual Insurance Company. For many years he lived in Dwight, Illinois, Flanagan, Illinois and Leesburg, Florida. He was a member of Woodlands Lutheran Church in Montverde, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Helen Essington Dippon who died in 1992. He later married Ruth Murphy Dippon who died in 2016.
Surviving are his daughter, Ruth Carol Dippon Andreasen and her husband, Robert of Clemson; grandsons, Jeff Andreasen (Gena) of Deerfield, IL, Steve Andreasen (Christine) of Anderson, SC, Eric Dippon (Lynette) of Elk Grove Village, IL, and Christopher Dippon of Carbondale, IL; granddaughters, Amy Dippon Roberts of Peoria, IL, Jill Dippon Quist (Jim) of Chicago, IL and Sara Dippon of St. Louis, MO; great grandsons, Ben Andreasen of Clemson, SC, Mills Roberts and Sam Roberts, both of Peoria, IL, Jason Dippon and Jeremy Dippon both of Elk Grove Village, IL and Calab Dippon of Carbondale, IL; great granddaughters, Tessa Andreasen of Evanston, IL, Hannah Andreasen of Dubai, UAE, Emily Andreasen of Clemson, SC, Audrey Quist, Charlotte Quist, Margot Quist and Olivia Quist all of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are daughters-in-law, Linda Dippon and Donna Pike.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert and Glenn Dippon; his sister, Fern (Dippon) Clover and sons, Richard and Norman Dippon.
A memorial service will be held on July 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Flanagan, IL with a private inurnment to follow at Center Cemetery in Flanagan.
