Charles Edward "Ed" Atkinson, 80, of 217 South Seventh Street, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in Oconee County, a son of the late Charlie and Sally Britton Atkinson, Mr. Atkinson retired from Southern Weaving after fourteen years of service and later worked for the City of Easley. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Catherine "Cat" Suddeth Atkinson of the home; two sisters, Marcella Hollihan of Greer and Carolyn Brooks of Greenville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Atkinson was predeceased by a brother, Dennis "Dinky" Atkinson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Liberty.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the residence.
