Edford Turner, 84, of 320 Mossie Smith Road, husband of the late Helen Gilstrap Turner, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Oconee County, a son of the late Lester and Florence Leroy Turner, Mr. Turner retired from Milliken Corporation after thirty years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy.

Surviving are a son, Douglas Turner and his wife, Cindy, of Simpsonville; a brother, J.B. Turner of Easley; two sisters, Cleo Finley of Liberty and Frances Simpson of Easley; and two step-grandchildren; Stephen Eskesen and Leigh Ann Eskesen. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Turner was predeceased by three brothers.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Doyle Finley officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels, P.O. Box 1162, Pickens, SC 29671.

The family is at the residence.
