Edgar "Eddie" Albert Cox

January 15, 1942 — September 6, 2020

Edgar "Eddie" Albert Cox, Sr., 78, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Born in Buchanan County, VA, a son of the late George Washington Cox and the late Myrtle Stiltner Cox, he was owner and operator of Cox Drywall for many years. Mr. Cox stood firm on the sanctity of life and dedicated over a decade to defense of the unborn. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville.

Surviving are sons, Edgar "Gig" Cox, Jr. (Lora) of Louisa County, VA, Kent Ray Cox of Jacksonville, FL, and Neal Shaun Cox (Dana) of Easley, SC; a daughter, Bonnie Sheryl Cox of Richmond, VA; a brother, Woody Cox (Carol) of Mechanicsville, VA; sisters, Sue "Lisa" Bolin (Gary) of Minnesota, Grace Marks of Richmond, VA, and Barbara Winchester of Clarksville, MD; and grandchildren, Lindsey, Hunter, Samantha, Cody, Sierra, Shaun, Celeste, Savanna, Seth, Simon, Monroe, Aniston, Lindley, and Crewe.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Ross, Earl, Woodrow, Paul, Mack, and George Cox, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Artabazon Johnson.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery, 1743 Chase High Road, Forest City, NC 28043.

The family will be at their respective homes.
