Edgar Reddell Monteith Easley, SC

Mr. Edgar Reddell Monteith, 90, of Easley, husband of Marguerite Sullivan Monteith, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his residence.

Edgar was born in Glenville, NC on January 17, 1926 to the late James Lewis and Gladys Bryson Monteith. He retired as a truck driver from Carolina Freight in Greer.  He was a longtime member of West Gantt First Baptist Church.

In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, he is survived by a daughter; Gail Monteith King (Stan); a son; Barry Monteith; and a sister; Sybil Dillard. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law; Willie Lee Fowler (Ken); and a brother and sister-in-law; Ervin Monteith (Joyce).

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at West Gantt First Baptist Church, 1452 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29605. Interment will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM.

The family is at the residence.
