Edith Viola Pilgrim Cartee, 84, widow of L. T. Cartee, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Brookside Living Center in Anderson. A native of Pickens County she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Nina Pilgrim. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Baptist Church and operated a Pastry Shop in Pendleton for several years.

She is survived by sons: Larry T. Cartee and wife Linda of Pendleton and Alan E. Cartee and wife Nancy of Pendleton; daughter, Jackie C. Swaney and husband Jimmy of Clemson; brothers: Junior, Jerry and J. D. Pilgrim all of Six Mile; sisters, Mildred Dodson of Six Mile, Christine Pilgrim of Norris and Pauline Hall of Six Mile, 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by son, Phil Leroy Cartee, brothers, Furman, David, Donald Lee and Billy Joe Pilgrim, sisters, Hazel Wigington, Katie Maxie and Ovaline Marcus.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Faith Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, 2230 Old Greenville Highway, Pendleton, SC 29670. The family is at the home 1014 Levis Smith Road, Pendleton, SC 29670

Funeral services will be 3pm Tuesday at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Pendleton with burial to follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 - 3 prior to the service.
