Edith Lavenia Nalley Crenshaw, 95, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2017, in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Mrs. Crenshaw was born at home in Easley, South Carolina on June 23, 1921 to the late George Henry and Nancy Edith McClimon Nalley. She graduated from Easley High School and Draughon's Business School. She retired in 1986, after 25 years as Bookkeeper for Christ Church Episcopal in Greenville, South Carolina.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Greer, South Carolina for 51 years, serving as past President of the United Methodist Women and also serving on various committees in the church. She volunteered with Greer Community Ministries for many years and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three daughters, Diane C. Trussell of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Donna M. Cox (David) of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Nancy C. Edwards of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandsons, Donald H. Edwards, III (Megan) of Jacksonville, Florida, Aaron D. Cox of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Brian H. Edwards of Jacksonville, Florida; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Quinn Edwards, one great-grandson, Evan Cox, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Jesse B. Crenshaw; seven siblings, William Arthur Nalley, Helen Eudora Nalley Rankin, Henry Bolt Nalley, Maybelle Nalley Ragland, Mary Elizabeth Nalley Stribling, Alice Missouri Nalley Owens, and Donald Woodrow Nalley, and two sons-in-law, Edward Griffith Trussell and Donald H. Edwards, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home–Downtown. Receiving of friends will be from 11:00 AM Until 11:45 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Faith United Methodist Church, 1301 N. Main Street, Greer, SC 29650 or to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
