Edith Irene Owens Nichols, 87, of 218 Marks Street, died Friday, February 10, 2006, in Pickens.

Born in Pickens County, Mrs. Nichols was a daughter of the late Henry and Onnie McCrary Owens. Mrs. Nichols retired from Lowndes Products in Easley and she was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia Jean Orr and her husband, Richard, of Powdersville and Linda Johnson and her husband, J.M., of Easley; a brother, Rufus Owens of Pickens; a sister, Doris Owens of Oregon; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nichols was predeceased by her husband, Cecil C. Nichols; a son, James Carl Nichols; a daughter, Mary Lee Nichols; and nine siblings.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2006, at Wayside Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Jean Orr, 115 Meadowridge Drive, Easley, S.C. 29642.
