She was a member of the Demonstration Club and served on the FHA County Committee. Mrs. Rodgers has been a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rodgers was predeceased by her first husband, Hoke Hendricks Cox, by her second husband, John Medlin, by two brothers, James L. Fendley and Thomas F. Fendley, and by a sister, Willie Mae Lesley.
