Edmund Bellinger “Jim” Gregorie, III, 78, of Greer, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Edmund Bellinger Gregorie, Jr. and Mary Ellen Oates Gregorie.

Jim was a graduate of Clemson University having received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education in 1968. He was a past president of the Greenville and South Carolina Home Builders Associations and held a residential business license for more than 40 years. As the owner of The Gregorie Company, he built and developed projects in Greenville and Anderson counties before retiring in 2006. He served the past 19 years as Vice Chairman of the Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict, dba, MetroConnects, Board of Commissioners having received appointments from Governors Mark Sanford, Nikki Haley and Henry McMaster. He was also a SIF Board Member serving for 15 years. 

Jim was an IPTAY Member for many years and an avid Clemson Tiger fan.

Jim is survived by his aunt Martha Durham Oates and her children, Angie Oates Grant (James) and Susan Oates Hutto (Steve) and their children; and special friends, Linda Dodd and Ron DePietro.

A gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at The Poinsett Club, 807 E. Washington Street, Greenville, SC.
