Mrs. Edna Jean Gambrell Leopard, 83, of 18 2nd Street, LaFrance, loving wife of 54 years of the late William Kenneth Leopard, passed away peacefully Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Rainey Hospice House, Anderson. She was surrounded by your children and sole surviving sibling, Joe (Delores) Gambrell, Salisbury, NC.
Edna was born in Anderson County, SC on December 6, 1939 to the late William Floyd (Hotrod) and Floride Wells Gambrell. She was a homemaker and loving mother to her three children and many others from the LaFrance Community, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edna is survived by two sons; John Leopard (Robin) of Sandy Springs, SC and Michael Leopard (Elizabeth) of Pendleton, SC; and a daughter Karen Leopard of the home. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Nathan Leopard (Cierra), Brent Leopard (Deann), AJ Leopard, and Taylor Leopard; and six great-grandchildren; Malachi Leopard, Bentley Leopard, Westin O’Connor, Parker Leopard, Ethan Leopard, and Spencer Leopard.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Doug, Billy, Jerry, Larry, Tommy, Terry, and Benny Gambrell. Preceded also in death by 3 sisters, Linda Wimpey, Patsy McClellan, and Nancy Steadman.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Memory Gardens in Central, SC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the gravesite.
The family is at the home of her son, John, 315 Garrett Drive, Anderson, SC 29625.
The family would like to thank the faculty and staff of Anmed Health and the Rainey Hospice House for her loving care.
