Edward Leon Chappell Sr., 70, of Liberty, SC, passed away on October 5, 2026.

Edward lived a life marked by an outgoing spirit and a kind heart. He was someone who enjoyed being around others and found happiness in the company of friends and family. Those who knew him will remember his warm nature and the easy way he connected with people. Edward was also a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to watching the Clemson Tigers.

Edward Leon Chappell Sr. will be remembered with love by all who knew him. His kindness, his outgoing personality, and the joy he found in time shared with others will not be forgotten.

Edward is survived by his mother, Rebecca Chappell, sons, Edward Chappell Jr. (Catalina), and Wiley Gantt; brother, Vernell Chappell (Phyllis); sisters, Elizabeth Holder (Luther), Joyce Fincannon (Mike), Linda Rowland (Paul), Geraldine Wilson, Frances Davis (Ronnie); and grandchildren, Sophie Chappell, and Emma Chappell.

Edward is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Chappell, and sister Shirley Berry.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 9th, 2026, at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home from 2:00 – 2:45 PM. The Funeral Service will follow visitation in the Funeral Home Chapel starting at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Central, SC.
