Edward Arlo Long, 92, former husband of the late Lorraine Long died, Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC.
Edward was born in Detroit, Michigan a son of the late Arlo R. and Florence McGown Long. He was a graduate of Pershing High School and earned an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He was a retired executive with Cooper Industries in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In his long and distinguished career, he embraced each community he lived in and worked to make them better.
Edward was a WWII Veteran of the Coast Guard and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Surviving are two daughters, Marian Benton of Clemson, SC and Karin Schelke and husband, Jonathan of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; brother, Gerald Long of Romeo, Michigan; and grandchildren, Edward Benton and Margaret Haynes (McKendree Haynes) of Clemson, Gabriel Schelke (Jaqueline Simon) of Golden, Colorado, Nicholas Schelke (Allison) of Wheat Ridge, CO; and great grandchildren, Charles Haynes and Wilde Schelke.
In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by a brother, Alan Long; and a son-in-law, Charles Benton.
Inurnment will be in Pinconning, Michigan.
