Edward Warren, Jr., 86, formerly of Grigsby Avenue, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at NHC of Anderson.
Born in Wilson, NC, a son of the late Edward and Rachel Lawrence Warren, Mr. Warren was a 1948 graduate of North Carolina State University where he majored in textile manufacturing. He was formerly employed with Mooresville Mills in Mooresville, NC, and retired from National Old Line Insurance Company of Little Rock, AR.
Following his retirement, Mr. Warren taught third grade at East End Elementary School for seven years. He was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Easley Lion's Club. Mr. Warren was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army Air Corps in Naples and Rome as a pilot of C-47 transport planes.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Wainwright Warren of the home; a son, Dr. Edward Warren, III, and wife, Katherine of St. Helena Island; a daughter, Katherine W. Holcombe and husband, Perry, of Easley; nine grandchildren, Edward Warren and wife, Julie; Carter Warren and wife, Beth; Cameron Warren and wife, Claussen; Adelaide Warren; Thomas Holcombe and wife, Michelle; Willis Holcombe and wife, Amber; Kennon Holcombe; Brandon Jordan and Justin Jordan; and two great-grandchildren, Sallie Warren and Warren Holcombe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Warren was predeceased by a brother, William Edgar Warren and by a sister, Rachel Magnabosco.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Correll officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of Katherine and Perry Holcombe, 303 Arrowhead Trail, Easley, SC 29642.
