Dr. Edwin C. Anderson

Edwin Charles Anderson, 91, of Clemson died on January 1, 2017. Born in St. James, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin Victor and Charlotte Knapp Anderson of Pendleton, SC.
Edwin was a WWII Navy veteran assigned as a sonarman aboard the USS Howard Clark in the Pacific Theater. He completed his undergraduate work at Clemson College and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. A loyal husband and fisherman he was known by his Clemson friends and clients (and patients) simply as the legendary "Doc." He opened the first animal hospital in Clemson, S.C. in 1963. Dr. E. C. Anderson pioneered the Animal Health Technology Program at Tri-County Technical College. In his retirement, he continued to maintain a small practice out of his home on Lake Hartwell.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Beverly Cavanagh Anderson, a son, Bruce Anderson; a daughter, Terry Anderson, a granddaughter Jill Revis and a grandson, Sam Roberts.
Surviving are sons, Dean Anderson (Evelyn) of Chapin, John Anderson of Six Mile, and Robert Anderson (Sheri) of Aiken; daughters, Eileen Roberts (David) of Simpsonville and Pat Roberts (Mike) of Aiken; daughters-in- law, Ann Anderson of Walhalla and Pam Anderson of Easley. Additionally, 14 grandchildren, Britt Jurjevic, Brandon Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Eric Anderson, Laura Singleton, Clint Pollard, Kathleen Wright, Travis Hayes, Josh Hayes, Matthew Anderson, Mallory Anderson, Jake Anderson, Ben Anderson and Addie Fairey. Dr. Anderson also had 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and generations to come.
After a family graveside service, "Doc" will rest in peace with his beloved wife at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC.
