Edwin McCollum

Edwin McCollum, 94, of Easley, South Carolina and husband of the late Florence McCue McCollum, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Mauldin.

Edwin was born in Pickens County, the son of the late James Wylie and Cora Lee Christopher McCollum. Edwin was a carpenter, and a member of St. Andrew Methodist Church. In his spare time, he loved fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. He constructed numerous custom homes around the upstate area over his lifetime. Edwin took great pride that he did his apprenticeship working on the Frank Lloyd Wright House - Broad Margin, at 9 West Avondale Dr, Greenville, SC while working for Harold T. Newton.
 
 Surviving are his three sons, Roger Lee McCollum (Dana) of Huber Heights, Ohio, Benny Edwin McCollum (Martha) of Easley, South Carolina and David Christopher McCollum (Alan Ream) of Easley South Carolina, Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his wife and parents, Edwin was predeceased by five brothers, C.B. McCollum, Doyle McCollum, William "Bill" McCollum, Fred McCollum, and Johnnie McCollum; also, two sisters, Helen M. Lowry and Bernice McCollum Wilson.
 
 The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at Robinson Funeral Home – 1425 Powdersville Rd., Easley, SC 29642 - on Friday, February 2, 2024. A funeral service to honor the life of Edwin McCollum will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home –1425 Powdersville Rd., Easley, SC 29642 - with the Rev. Jeff Childress and Rev. Ron Hoeksema officiating. The entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens following the service.
