Effie Durham Merck, 84, wife of James Swain Merck of 340 West Blue Ridge Street, died December 26, 2006 at Hospice House of Anderson. She was a native of Greenville County and was the daughter of the late Ellis Johnson and Carrie Redmond Durham. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Jimmy Merck and wife Debbie, daughter Faye Ladd, sisters Madge Haney and Margie Bryant, two grandchildren Michael Merck and Michele Alcorn, and two great grandchildren Alex and John Merck.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 2:00pm in the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Building Fund of Faith Fellowship Church, 2230 Old Greenville Highway, Pendleton, SC 29670 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
