Eleanor Kelly Gibson, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the age of 86.
She is survived by a daughter, Jo Dale Gibson of Pendleton, and a son, Don H. Gibson and his wife Myra of Powdersville. "Nanny" as she was known by her family, will also be missed by her grandchildren, Keri, Josh, and Kayla Gibson and Joey and Timmy Green, along with great-grandchildren, Joseph, Drew, and Chloe Green. She also leaves behind her sister Jean Holladay and first cousin Blanche Jackson,as well as countless family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe W. Gibson, a daughter Judy Lynn Gibson and parents, Harvey Jack and Bernice Kelly.
Eleanor was a long time member of The Mount Church in Clemson where she and husband Joe, taught the youth for many years. She retired from Clemson University with twenty one years of service in the accounting division.
A lady of great faith and quiet spirit, Eleanor has impacted the lives of countless young people and peers alike with the love of Jesus Christ. This world is truly a better place for her time here on earth. All who met her were blessed beyond measure to have known her.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, and entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum following the service.
Rev. Josh Culver, pastor of The Mount Church and Reverend Doctor David Gallamore, pastor of Rock Springs Baptist Church will officiate.
