Elijah was born in Pickens County on August 13, 1937, to his father Elijah Walker Bagwell Sr. and mother Letha May Bagwell.

Elijah's career as a machinist was nothing short of remarkable. His prowess in the field earned him a reputation for precision and excellence. With each project he undertook, Elijah brought ingenuity and expertise, crafting intricate machinery with finesse. His contributions to the industry were invaluable, and his legacy as a master machinist will continue to inspire future generations.

In addition to his professional achievements, Elijah had a deep love for his family and friends. After serving his country in the Navy for four years, including during the Bay of the Pig standoff, he returned home to build a life surrounded by those he held closest to his heart.

Outside of work, Elijah found solace and joy in pursuing his hobbies. Woodworking became a cherished pastime for him, allowing him to create intricate pieces that showcased his attention to detail and craftsmanship.
