Elise E. Manning

Elise E. Manning, 92, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2026.

Born in Middleburgh, NY on March 7, 1934, she was the second daughter of the late Margarete and Fritz Ebersbach. Elise is survived by her sons, Ted Manning (Melanie) and Scott Manning (Haeran); grandsons, Brian Manning (Savanah) and Eric Manning (Kayla); granddaughters, Hanna Manning and Brianna Manning; and great-grandchildren, Ellie and John Manning (children of Eric and Kayla). Elise was preceded in death by her husband, Don Manning, and sister, Anne Ebersbach.

Elise always enjoyed sharing stories of growing up in Middleburgh, NY where she graduated from Middleburgh Central High School as Valedictorian of her class. She is a graduate of Paul Smith’s College with a degree in Hotel Management. As a longtime resident of Simpsonville, SC, she was very active in her community as a member of the Simpsonville Garden Club and many years of service to the Poinsettia Community Pool. Elise enjoyed the last three years of her life at Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC. There she made many new friends and found a place that sweetly cared for her medical needs the last years of her life.

The family will receive friends at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1100 Log Shoals Road, Mauldin, SC 29662, on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
