Eliza Anne Gibson, 89, daughter of Willie Thompson Wyatt Sr. and Ethel Attaway Wyatt, of the Corinth Community, passed away peacefully July 19th 2026, at home with her sons attending her.

Mrs. Eliza Anne Gibson is survived by her brother James Attaway Wyatt of Virginia, and her sons John Gibson III of Asheville, NC, James William Gibson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and her nephew Jeff Massengale of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Anne was a graduate of Easley High School, class of 1953. She Married John Gibson Jr. in 1957. She was a devoted Military Wife and traveled far from South Carolina to Japan, New Jersey, and Virginia. Anne and Johnny retired to Brentwood, Arkansas, to run the Gibson family basket shop and to make the historically famous Gibson Basket. After the passing of Johnny's parents, they retired again to Anne's ancestral home on WT Wyatt Road. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012.

She was an avid gardener and loved to tend her flowers. Her love of growing beauty applied to her two sons, John and James. She also adopted the two sons of her sister Doris, after her untimely passing, raising them as her own. She imbued them with a strong work ethic and moral compass. She was beloved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church, 511 E. Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.
