Elizabeth "Betty" Boggs Higby

January 5, 1944 — January 25, 2021

Elizabeth Nance (Betty) Higby of Clemson, S.C. passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, S.C. after several months of declining health. For the past year Mrs. Higby had been a resident of Morningside Assisted Living of Seneca. Prior to her stay at Morningside she lived with her husband, Bob Higby, in Clemson.

Mrs. Higby finished Daniel High School and Limestone College. After teaching stints in Virginia and Texas she taught in the Oconee County School District from which she retired. Upon her retirement, Betty became involved in many organizations such as the Antiques Club, Red Hat Club, Stamping and Scrapbooking Club, and Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time with her husband, family, "fur babies", and stamping friends, and cheering for her Clemson Tigers. She remained active as long as her health permitted.

Mrs. Higby was predeceased by her parents James B.(Chick) and Ella Nance Boggs of Clemson.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bob Higby of Clemson, brother, Jim (Biddie) Boggs (Judi) of Denton, NC, sister-in-law, Connie Higby of Boone, NC, nephew Mark Higby of Boone, nieces Leigh Parker (John) of Denton, NC, Lauren Boggs of Charlotte, Brandee Boggs of Asheville, and Suzannah Higby of Boone; great nieces Olivia Parker of Denton and Bentley Higby of Charlotte and great nephew Samuel Drayton Parker of Denton, NC. She is also survived by her "best friends" Ron and Vicki Stockman of Irmo, SC.

A graveside service will be held at Old Stone Church at noon on Saturday, January 30,2021.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic facial coverings will be required and social distancing protocols will be observed.
