Elizabeth McMahan Campbell, 88,
formerly of Easley, died Thursday, June 04, 2009 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC following a lengthy illness.
Born in Easley, she was the daughter of the late Cal McMahan and the late Margie Duckworth McMahan McCravy. She attended Furman University and worked at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley for many years as a surgical nurse.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by a daughter, Eve Shumate and husband, Richard of Greenville; three grandchildren, Stephen Shumate of Greenville, Cindy Chasteen and husband Paul of Mount Pleasant, and Lisa Rawleigh and husband Carl of Chapin; and three great-grandchildren, Brenden Chasteen of Mount Pleasant and Cole Morgan and Ava Clair Rawleigh of Chapin.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Truman Layfield Campbell, Sr.; her son, Truman (Humpy) Layfield Campbell, Jr.; a sister, Margaret McMahan; and an aunt Bennye Duckworth.
Graveside memorial services will be 12:00 noon Monday in Westview Cemetery, Easley, officiated by Father Robert Falabella of St. Mary Magdalene Church, Simpsonville.
The family is at their respective homes.
