Elizabeth Canterbury Karns, 85, wife of Donald M. Karns, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018.

Mrs. Karns was born July 24, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Canterbury. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1950, and she worked four years at Bucyrus-Erie.

Elizabeth married Donald Karns June 2, 1953, and together they had four children. Mrs. Karns ministered along with her husband in Clarksburg, Indiana, South Africa, Guyana, Liberia, and Zimbabwe. Missions was her life. She loved to travel, cook, and provide hospitality.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, Mrs. Karns is survived by 4 children: Brenda Bagley and husband, Robert of South Africa, Don Karns and wife, Laura of Central, Sheryl Dennis and husband, Jeff of North Myrtle Beach, and John Karns and wife, Debbie of Walhalla; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Tracy, Mary Beth, Meredith, Kathryn, Charlsie, Charldon, and Meagan; four great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kevin, Cameron, and Liesyl; a brother, Jerry Canterbury and wife, Bernice of Evansville, Indiana; and a sister, Louise Nichols and husband Dave, of Torrance, California.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the ALIVE Wesleyan Church, 136 Chastain Road, Central, SC 29630. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Heritage Memorial Gardens in Westminster.
