Elizabeth Guerrant "Betty" Walters, 88, of 104 Hyde Lane and widow of her loving husband, William Deran Walters went to be with her Lord, Thursday, July 25, 2013.
Born in Stateville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Ola Covey Guerrant. Betty was a former employee with Dan River Mills and Clemson University. She attended Stratford College in Danville, VA. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Betty was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and was a member of the Dolly Brock Circle.
Surviving are daughters, Anne Baldwin of Clemson and Joan Carter (Christopher A.) of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Lauren Baldwin, Rachael Hardin, Bryan Hardin, Lauren Carter and Kristen Carter; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Foster of Statesville, NC; nieces and nephews, Leslie Davidson and Kathryn Gantt both of Statesville, NC, Susan Woodard of Charlotte, NC, and Jack Joyner and Mary R. Taylor both of Weldon, NC.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard Guerrant; and sister, Mary Suiter.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Elder officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
A graveside committal service will be 2 PM, Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, NC.
