Ella Pepper Garrison, 79, of 45 Wagon Trail, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at Easley Living Center.

Born in Anderson County, Mrs. Garrison was a daughter of the late Dr. J.C. Pepper and the late Mary Haas Pepper. She graduated from Easley High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Duke University and a Masters Degree from Emory University.

Mrs. Garrison retired as a registered nurse from Greenville General Hospital after twenty years of service. She was Dean of Nursing and Allied Health at Greenville Technical College for ten years and later she was Clinical Director at Anderson Memorial Hospital for five years.

A member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Mrs. Garrison was a former choir member, and she taught two and three year-olds for forty years. Also, Mrs. Garrison taught the Webb Pepper Sunday School Class, and she was the church treasurer for many years.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-seven years, David Garrison, of the home; her son, Carl Garrison, of Grand Junction, Colorado; her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jack Green, of Easley; and one sister, Faye Nasworthy, of Easley. Mrs. Garrison was predeceased by two brothers, J.C. Pepper, Jr. and Charles Pepper; and one sister, Mae Pepper.

Funeral services will be 3:30 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Private burial will follow in Pickens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:15 P.M. prior to the service.

The family is at home of the daughter, Martha Green, 850 Three and Twenty Road, Easley, S.C. 29642.

Family members express their thanks to the staffs of Easley Living Center, Riverside Living Center, Easley Baptist Hospital, and Southern Care Hospice.
