Ellen C. Bell

Ellen L. Cobb Gibson Bell, 86, of 626 South Main Street, formerly of Easley, went home to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at her residence.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late George and Leavie Aiken Cobb and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Bell worked as a seamstress at Shirtmaker for thirty years before moving to Belton when she married Rev. Bell. She was a faithful member of Belton Church of God of Prophecy and a devoted pastor's wife.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances G. Gabrel of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Cathy Bell of Belton; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Irvin Chitwood, of Belton; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special nieces. Mrs. Bell was predeceased by her first husband, James R. Gibson; her second husband, Rev. Calvin Bell; her son, James P. Gibson; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley. Burial will follow in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Belton Church of God of Prophecy, 107 W. Blair Mill Road, Belton, SC 29627.
