Ellen Elrod Shands

Mrs. Ellen Estelle Elrod Shands, 84, wife of John "Jack" Floyd Shands, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020.
Born in Powdersville, a daughter of the late Samuel James Elrod and the late Loche Belle Elrod, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed laughing, meeting people, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Easley.
Surviving, in addition to her loving husband of sixty-three years, are a daughter, Cynthia Shands of Powdersville; a son, Tim Shands (Kimberly) of Powdersville; a daughter, Sherri Junkins of Easley; brothers, Jon Robert Elrod (Ivah Jo) and George L. Elrod (Nan), both of Powdersville; grandchildren, Dustin Junkins (Freda) of Easley, Samuel Shands and Daniel Shands, both of Powdersville; and a great-grandson, Damian Junkins of Easley.
She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Larry Elrod and Jimmy Elrod.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 516 Piedmont Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church, before the service.
