Mr. Ellis Davis, Jr., 87, husband of the late Marie White Davis, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Born in Greenville County, the son of the late Ellis Davis, Sr. and the late Ruth Ellison Davis, Mr. Davis was a graduate of Clemson College where he earned his bachelor's degree, belonged to the ROTC and was a member of the track team. He was a chemist and inventor and held many patents. Ellis retired from Burlington Industries and was the owner and operator of STRA. He was a U.S. Army Captain having served during the Bay of Pigs and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Mr. Davis loved his family and church. He loved running and especially loved gardening where he had more than three hundred rose bushes and held many awards for his roses. All that knew Ellis, know he was a loyal and avid Clemson Tiger fan.

Surviving are his son, Kenneth Davis (Debbie) of Easley; his daughters, Teresa Handley (Bill) of Easley, Cindy Boccabello (Frank) of Easley, and Kathy Hetrick (John) of Greenville; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Davis was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Davis Kelly and Elizabeth Davis Moore.

Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Davis to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 1623 Hester Store Road, Easley, SC 29640.
