On Tuesday, January 24, 2012 our beloved mother, grandmother, and "GG", Elma Marie Waldrop Harris, took the ultimate journey to Heaven where she was reunited with her husband William Bruce Harris.
Born June 28, 1930 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Susan Waldrop. Mrs. Harris was homemaker who raised and bred puppies. Later in life, she loved to travel and took up golf, where she was awarded more than one "hole in one" trophy.
She is survived by her five sons, Ronnie Harris of Liberty, Steve Harris, David Harris, Barry Harris all of Pickens, and Randy Harris of Easley; daughter, Susan Harris Pottberg, of Easley; sister, Sybil Holcombe, niece Mary Sue McJunkin, both of Easley; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and six great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2012 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at 311 North Old Mill Rd., Easley, SC.
