Elma P. Jennings

Elma Sally Porter Jennings, 88, of the Magnolias of Easley and formerly of Couch Lane, loving wife of the late Ray Leslie Jennings, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, Mrs. Jennings was a daughter of the late Mack Duffy and Lucinda Alexander Porter. She was the longest surviving member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, having been a member for 80 years. Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Ida Looper Sunday School Class, and she was honored to serve in the church nursery. Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and also loved taking care of children in her home.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald B. Jennings (Ruth), Donald B. Jennings (Linda), and Mark L. Jennings (Rita), all of Easley; one brother, Lester Porter of Easley; one sister, Ella Mae Trotter, of Liberty; six grandchildren, Brent Jennings, Jeff Jennings, Kelly Parton, Isaac Jennings, Lee Childs, and Caitlin Jennings; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jennings was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Henry Porter; and two sisters, Frances Hatley and Vera Tomberline.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Gallamore, the Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer and Isaac Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Ida Looper Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, and will be placed in the church at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday.
