Elna Iona James Wilson, 89, formerly of 125 Starview (6th Street), wife of the late Taylor Roy Wilson, Sr., died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Countryside Village.

Born in Central, she was a daughter of the late Major Jink and Elzie Leopard James. She was retired from Alice Manufacturing and attended Tabor UMC where she was a member of the Dora Evatt Sunday School Class, and was also a member of the OES #200. Mrs. Wilson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She lived as an example of loving and caring for others.

Surviving are a son, James "Herb" Wilson and wife Janet of Easley; two daughters, Carol Dickard of Easley, Pat Clardy and husband Doodle of Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Wilson, of Germantown, TN; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Taylor Roy Wilson, Jr.; a son-in-law, Byron "Bud" Dickard; and a granddaughter, Syrell Wilson.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverend Roger Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Carol Dickard; 242 Mulberry Road; Easley, SC 29640.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff in the West Wing Assisted Living at Countryside Village who lovingly cared for her for seven years, and Hospice of the Upstate for their kind and loving support shown to our Mom.
