Eloise Weir Blanks of Ravenel Circle, died at home on July 12, 2009. She was born in Chester County, South Carolina on August 30, 1925 and was the daughter of Leslie B. and Cora R. Weir. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor G. Blanks. Surviving are her daughter Corinne Cannon of Clemson, her sister Lavinia McDonald of Chester, and two special nieces, Sandra K. McDonald of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Harriet M. Simmons of Clemson. Eloise retired to Clemson in 1992 from Charlotte, North Carolina where she lived for over 40 years. At the time of her retirement she was a private caterer and operated the employee and executive dining rooms for Wachovia Bank. Mrs. Blanks was active in areas of church administration at Tabernacle Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church, The First Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. She was also active in community and church affairs having served as chief usher at Ovens Auditorium and having held numerous state and national positions in both the ARP and Presbyterian churches. Eloise was an avid gardener who loved her yard and loved to share her flowers. She was also an enthusiastic bridge player, a most accommodating hostess, and a true friend to her beautiful white cat, Ashley. In recent years Eloise enjoyed the activities of the Central-Clemson Senior Center and her friends there. She was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th in the chapel at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with interment on Wednesday July 15th at 11:00 A.M. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina.
