Melba Eloise Cantrell Waldrop, 65, of 103 Homeland Court, wife of James M. "Rabbit" Waldrop, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Liberty a daughter of Nora Gilstrap Cantrell , of Easley and the late Paul Robert Cantrell, she was a retired teachers assistant with the Pickens County School District and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Cheryle Wright, Anita Bishop and Ann Wiles all of Easley and Traci Kjear of Liberty; two sisters, Grace McAlister of Central and Joyce Willis of Liberty and eight grandchildren, Dustin Winchester, Cody Kjear, Stewart Kennemore, Kendall Kjear, Selene Wright, Brooke-Ann Bishop, Heather Bishop and Chloe Kjear.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Jim Spencer and the Reverend Rodney Graham. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Eloise was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and Christian. Her special care and touches will be missed by all who loved her. She left a lasting impression on all she came in contact with.
