Emma Jane Piazza, 97, widow of Philip Benjamin Piazza, passed away peacefully to join him Friday, July 12, 2019. She was born in Scotland August 12, 1921 a daughter of Donald and Emma Aitcheson Fraser.
Emma's family moved to Pennsylvania when she was young and she graduated from Carbondale High School in Carbondale, PA. She went on too be a secretary and office manager, but her most important job was that of a home maker. She was a wife and the mother of three daughters. Emma also was involved with the Military Officers Wives Club, Rotary International where she also was a Paul Harris Fellow, and she was a volunteer at Clemson Downs.
Emma, when she had spare time enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, was a member of Knit One Crochet Two knitting preemie baby hats, Clemson athletics, especially Clemson women's basketball, where she was an Orange Brigade member – and she loved all things chocolate!
In addition to her husband, who preceded her in death May 29, 2011 she was preceded by her parents; and her three brothers, Bill, Craig, and Don Fraser. She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Piazza of Clemson, Carol Miller (Hugh) of Seneca, and Linda Hoover (Don) of Six Mile; three grandchildren, Heather Yuill, Casey Masters, and Heath Miller; and eight great grandchildren, Skylar Masters, Bryce Blakely, Elizabeth Yuill, Austin Yuill, Dylan smith, Aubrey Hedlund-Hoover, Camden Santiago, and Kayleigh Santiago.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 16 at University Lutheran Church, 111 Sloan Street, Clemson, SC 29631. Interment will be at MJ "Dolly" Cooper National Cemetery in Anderson.
The family will receive friends 6-7:30 PM Monday, July 15 at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the University Lutheran Church General Fund, 111 Sloan St., Clemson SC 29631 or to the US Army Ranger Memorial Foundation, P. O. Box 53369, Fort Benning, GA, 31995.
