Mattie Ena Bowen Owen, 82, of 303 Lebanon Road, wife of Albert Cecil Owen, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the Hospice House of Anderson.
Born in the Zion Community of Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Henry and Nettie Jeanette Freeman Bowen. She was a homemaker and a member of Refuge Baptist Church and the Mothers' Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Steve Owen, of Pendleton; two daughters, Carolyn James and husband, Frankie, of Greenville and Linda Cartee and husband, Larry, of Pendleton; one sister, Joyce Bowen Philyaw of Anderson; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Clint Bowen, Lawrence Bowen, Carl Bowen, Ralph Bowen and George Bowen.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday at Refuge Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons.
The family is at the home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
