Erin Cecelia Randall Anthony

In Memory of
Erin Randall Anthony
May 1, 1952 - March 8, 2021

After 68 years of living a life filled with light and love, Erin Randall Anthony returned home to God. It is appropriate that her departure coincided with a celebration of strong and powerful women, March 8, 2021. Throughout her lifetime, Erin expressed her strength in many ways. She used her gifts and talents to comfort, support, enrich, and bless the lives of others. Erin was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many. She was a talented artist who worked in drawing, pen and ink, and the fabric art of knitting. She crafted incredibly intricate antique lace designs in tablecloths, canopies, shawls, and baby blankets that she gifted to the family and friends that she loved so dearly. Her culinary talents were appreciated by all those who sat around her table. She was a gracious cook who often pressed a mason jar filled with stewed tomatoes, homemade salsa, or beans from the garden into your hand as you left her house. Ever helpful, she shared her knowledge on everything from gardening to making gravy to British royal history. Deeply thoughtful, she knitted Christmas stockings for entire families, crafted original Halloween costumes for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and took homemade blankets to those who were ill. Erin was the keeper of traditions and took her role as a family storyteller to heart. She felt it her job to make the stories come to life, even if that meant a bit of embellishment-ever the "Randall."

Erin was born on May 1, 1952, the second child and only daughter born to John Bradford and Thelma Morrison Randall, who preceded her in death. Her siblings were Brad Randall (Debbie) of Hernando, Mississippi and Sean Randall (Patty) of Atlanta, Georgia.

A graduate of Marietta High School in Marietta, Georgia, Erin went on to earn bachelor and master's degrees in business. The companies she worked for, Lloyds Bank, Southern Water Treatment, John Deer, and Ryobi, benefited from her vast experience in international business and her sense of humor, collaborative spirit, and creative flair.

Erin loved and cherished her children, Kiersten Bowers (deceased), Scott Bowers (Ana Bowers) and Brittany Bowers Fickling (Michael Fickling), who became the music of her heart. She unconditionally loved her stepsons, John and Adam Anthony (deceased). In time, Erin and her beloved husband, Rodger Anthony, welcomed grandchildren into their lives, Miles Fickling, Davis Fickling, Benjamin Oliver Bowers, Maggie Rose Hakim, Drake Anthony, Wyatt Anthony, and Jordon Anthony. She had a large extended family that filled her heart with joy and the pulse of life.

In August 2020, Erin's beloved husband Rodger went to his eternal reward. She missed him with her whole being. Now, she is in his embrace. More than a memory, we will find Erin in the beauty of a rose petal, the softness of a knitted cap, and the spiritedness of a well-told story, and we will celebrate the love and light she left behind.
